Sufia Singlee is a lecturer in the Department of Commercial Law at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. She received both her LLB and LLM (in Labour Law) from the University of Cape Town and her LLM (in Human Rights and Social Justice) from the University of New South Wales in Australia. Sufia teaches labour law (postgraduate and undergraduate levels) and business law. In addition, she researches and publishes in the area of labour law. She is currently working towards her doctoral thesis which addresses the issue of labour exploitation and labour trafficking on board fishing vessels in South Africa. Sufia is furthermore a member of the Institute for Development and Labour Law, as well as PescaDolus. Her research interests include labour law, human rights and social justice, immigration law and international law.
